An Outdoor English Experience in Scotland

This is not a classroom-taught English course.
Autumn Adventure is an English experience designed around movement, nature, and real conversation, with up to 70% of the time spent outdoors and on the move.

English is not taught through lessons or textbooks. Instead, it is used naturally throughout the day while walking and participating in outdoor activities (optional), and exploring Scotland’s beautiful autumn landscapes.

The experience is built from hundreds of small, real moments of using English as yourself — supported gently by a qualified English coach.

This no-classroom English holiday is designed for adults and busy professionals who want to:

Step away from screens and routines

Reconnect with English without pressure

Use English in meaningful, real situations

Conversation support is woven into the day — during activities, shared meals, and informal moments — so English develops because it’s being lived, not because it’s being studied.

Outdoor focus

Autumn Adventure is active and nature-led. Activities may include:

Walking and hiking in forests and countryside

Canoeing or cycling (optional, weather-dependent)

Exploring local landscapes and places of interest

Most days involve extended time outdoors, making this an ideal experience for people who enjoy movement and being in nature.

English support

The English coach walks alongside the group, offering:

Gentle support in conversation

Light correction when it helps clarity or confidence

Help finding words and expressing ideas in the moment

There is no classroom, no fixed lesson time, and no expectation to “perform.”

Crieff is a medium-sized, friendly town in the heart of Perthshire, central Scotland — surrounded by Highland scenery yet easy to reach from both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports. Located just 20 miles from Perth and Stirling, Crieff offers the feeling of the Highlands without the remoteness.

Set among ancient woodlands, lochs, rivers, and gentle hills, the area is ideal for slow walks, quiet reflection, and unhurried exploration. Locals often refer to “Perthshire time”: visitors arrive with busy lives and soon find themselves slowing down, noticing the landscape, and settling into a gentler rhythm.

Life here moves at a calmer pace, creating space to connect — with the place, the seasons, Scottish culture, and the English language you’re here to practise.

Our school is located in Crieff town centre, within easy walking distance of shops, cafés, and local amenities, and well connected to the rest of Scotland.

Evening meals are not routinely provided by homestay hosts, as this time is typically dedicated to socializing and connecting with fellow participants and hosts at the hub.
