This medium intensity course is designed for professional people who have a higher level of English but who wish to further perfect it through a mixture of language and job-specific skills, with 1-to-1 for individual attention to specific needs. This course gives enough free time to continue 'work away from home via the internet, phone etc.

COURSE CONTENT
Part A – 10 lessons progressive language development & practice based mainly on coursebooks to give structure and direction to the process of language learning
Part B – 10 lessons ‘active communication skills’ - lessons which focus on the individual skills of communication – listening, speaking, reading and writing – to ensure rapid progress in the ability to understand and use English in real situations.
Part C – 5 lessons per week ‘Module 2’ business English skills – lessons which offer more advanced language skills for professionals – negotiation, presentation etc – plus some business-specific skills (finance, law, military English etc.)
Part D - 5 lessons per week individual (1-to-1) tuition to deal with all your individual language needs and problems.
Part E - 2 lessons per week teacher-guided self-access study, computer-assisted learning, listening and pronunciation practice under the guidance of a senior teacher.

CLASS SIZE
During the academic year, the maximum class size is 6 students for all taught parts of the course; during July and August only, the maximum class size is 8 for parts A & B above.

ASSESSMENT
This course leads to a certificate issued by Severnvale Academy which gives a clear statement of your English level both functionally (communication level) and structurally (grammar level). These levels are assessed through continuous analysis and informal or formal testing.
Students taking this course also have the possibility to take an internationally recognised public certificate of English such as IELTS.
